Gloria Eletu shares about love and marriage

Gloria Kyeyune is married to Thomas Eletu, and they have two daughters and a son. Gloria and Thomas went to Kako Secondary School in Masaka.

“Thomas was our head prefect and four classes ahead of me – I never got a chance to speak to him while at school. HSC and O’level students were rarely in the same space. We met at a school reunion in 2010,” She recalls. “And the rest is history. We were wedded in May 2011 at the All Saints Cathedral Nakasero and thereafter had a cocktail reception at the church overflow.

“I sang in the service and at the reception too. I had to learn both songs the night before, one being “God on the mountain” by Lynda Randle and “Can you feel the love to-night” by Elton John. It was a simple and sweet wedding.

Marriage has its valleys and mountains and ours is not different from others, but we have learnt to take everything to the Lord in prayer. Yes, there are those days when it seems like one cannot stand each other, but even when “It don’t feel like love…, it’s still love! We eventually find ourselves in each others arms because together, and with God we survive the toughest storms. Because our anchor holds!
